Michael

1998
“God Experiment is the music project of a man called Michael. And that is me. In the early 90's I spent my time playing guitar in several gothic- punk- and metal bands. As I had my own band we could not find a drummer who could play exactly what we wanted - especially as we continued to change our direction, and as this was my band, it was my responsibility to program the drum computer. Thus, the seed for the additional electronic element of our music was sown very early. Our liking for Nitzer Ebb, Front 242 and Suicide, as well as guitar-based bands such as The Sisters of Mercy, Alien Sex Fiend, Big Black and Neurosis, were strong influence and a source of inspiration for this hot little piece.

Consequently, all bands run their course. Yet making music, naturally, continued and the electronic seed that had been sown so early grew, developed and matured. Now I am more involved with electronica than ever before, it is my primary focus. I prefer to work alone. This is God Experiment since July 1998. And I do what I want to do.”

2000
The instrumental song 'Interfear' was the first step to attract international attention and was available on the download pages mp3.com and mp3.de. In the following years, more songs like 'Flesh Heaven', 'Shine' and 'Out' caught the attention of several dance clubs.

2003
A German underground label, Halbwelt, approached God Experiment with a view to publish a full-length album. From this point, Halbwelt produced God Experiment tracks. It was the deep end, and the jump was made.

2005
Halbwelt released 'Presence'. This was followed by a four track EP with songs that had developed over the years; 'Liberate', 'Hollow Man', 'Assimilate' and 'I Live Here'. From this point, God Experiment focused on new songs, which promised to be lovely hate objects.

2007
Production time - studio time. A year was filled by long nights in the studio, completing a collection of songs for the album, which was to become 'Delivered Hate Object'.

Happily, Michael found Malea, who is a singer, writer and artist. Together they made the song 'Victim' from her wonderful spoken verse of the same name, and it found a way to the album.

2008
The full-length debut album 'Delivered Hate Object' was released in May, and available for the first time at the 'Wave-Gotik-Treffen' in Leipzig (Germany). Several songs from 'DHO' were discovered by international radio stations, and were released onto the airways.

2009
A collaboration with Demona Bast began. Demona is an actress, model and a musician. (See more in the 'Collaborations' Section.) The song 'Ole Imagaz' was created, and featured in her forthcoming album 'Vicious Tongues', that was released later in the same year.

Michael was approached again, and asked to contribute an exclusive song to join the ranks in the mighty compilation 'Old School Electrology Vol.1' (Electro Aggression Records) featuring 71 exclusive tracks from a selection of fabulous bands including yelworC, Haujobb, amGod and Armageddon Dildos, to name but a few.

For this song - 'Shiver' - Michael asked Malea to add some vocals to support its message... “We are never real..."

And 'Shiver' was the beginning of a new path for God Experiment.
